Among these conditions is von Willebrand disease, which also affects women and girls. As Catherine Delebarre, President of the Willebrand Commission of AFH Occitanie, points out: “Von Willebrand disease is unfortunately still not well known. There is still a long way to go, as it is often diagnosed too late.

Today, it is estimated that around 0.5% and 1,1% of the world’s population has a Willebrand disease deficiency, including women and girls who all too often remain underdiagnosed and insufficiently supported.

Raising awareness, educating, providing better care: it is together that we will make progress in the recognition and management of these rare diseases.
